Agency History
New Direction is a not-for-profit partnership founded by Jacquetta H. Bullock in September 2000 to provide educational and social support services for at-risk women, children and families. Since 2000, we have served more than 6,000 men, women and children through one of the many service areas and partnerships within our community.
NDMI closed its transitional housing facility, Destiny House, in February 2012 and partnered with other local service providers to help homeless individuals and families in crisis identify support services along with housing options.
We continue to provide direct services to at-risk youth and adults. The mission of T.A. Byrd Youth Enrichment Program is to provide life enrichment services targeting at-risk youth, building positive relationships that foster individual success. Our services component assists families socially and financially through instruction, awareness, education, referrals and advocacy.
